Cyclothymic Disorder |

| Cyclothymic disorder is a chronic
disorder that is not as severe as either bipolar disorder II or I. It is
characterized by hypomanic and depression symptoms, but does not meet the
full criteria for bipolar affective disorder. The symptoms of
cyclothymic disorder need to last for at least two years before a
diagnosis is can be made. Some people with cyclothymic disorder may
eventually develop bipolar affective disorder but for some people the
symptoms chronic but less severe than bipolar disorder.
